Product Information

A fascinating natural Baryte on Fluorite mineral specimen from Moorfurlong Mine, Bradwell, Derbyshire, measuring approximately 55.9 × 45.5mm.

This characterful British mineral specimen features soft blue-purple Fluorite formations across the matrix, accompanied by contrasting pale cream Baryte. The combination creates a beautifully textured piece, with the muted lavender-blue Fluorite particularly striking against the lighter mineral growth and warmer iron-stained areas.

Rather than the highly polished appearance often associated with commercial Fluorite, this specimen has been left completely natural, preserving its original crystalline structure, cavities and matrix. Viewed from different angles, further layers of mineralisation become visible throughout the piece.

Its documented Derbyshire provenance makes this especially appealing as a collector's specimen, representing the rich mineral heritage of the Peak District and the historic mining area around Bradwell.

About Fluorite & Baryte

Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral famous for its wide variety of colours and distinctive crystal formations. Derbyshire is particularly renowned among mineral collectors for its Fluorite deposits.

Baryte is a barium sulphate mineral that commonly forms pale white, cream or honey-toned crystals and can occur alongside Fluorite in mineralised veins.

Together, the two minerals create a wonderful example of naturally associated British mineral species.
