A substantial Fire Quartz sphere, featuring beautiful rusty-red and orange Hematite inclusions suspended within clear to milky Quartz.

This 385g sphere displays an intricate landscape of natural mineral formations, with rich reddish areas contrasting against softer translucent sections and cloudy white Quartz. The Hematite creates beautiful flame-like patterns throughout the stone, ranging from delicate wisps and scattered mineral inclusions to deeper concentrations of warm, iron-rich colour.

As the sphere is turned, different layers of mineral detail become visible, revealing natural internal veils, fractures and variations in translucency. Its polished surface allows light to interact with the clearer Quartz, highlighting the contrast between the pale crystal and the fiery Hematite inclusions.

About the Material

Fire Quartz, also known as Hematoid Quartz or Hematite Included Quartz, is a variety of Quartz containing natural iron oxide inclusions, commonly Hematite. These inclusions create the distinctive red, orange and rusty colouring that gives the material its fiery appearance.

The iron-rich mineralisation can occur as fine internal wisps, clouds, patches or more concentrated formations, creating individual patterns within the Quartz. Polishing the material into a sphere allows these internal features to be appreciated from multiple angles.
