Indian Apophyllite Cluster #2
Product Information
A beautiful natural Indian Apophyllite crystal cluster, featuring an impressive arrangement of clear to icy-white crystals growing together in a highly dimensional formation.
This specimen has a particularly lovely structure, with numerous well-defined Apophyllite crystals emerging at different angles across the cluster. Larger geometric crystals form the main body of the piece, while smaller points fill the spaces between them, creating layers of natural crystalline detail from every direction.
The crystals range from softly translucent and milky through to beautifully clear, with several displaying glassy faces that catch the light exceptionally well. In bright light, the clearer areas reveal internal features, subtle reflections and occasional rainbow flashes, adding even more interest to the formation.
Some of the crystals have broad, almost architectural faces, while others terminate in sharper points. The overlapping growth gives the specimen a wonderfully sculptural appearance, meaning there is no single obvious viewing angle turning the piece reveals different crystal formations throughout.
Measuring approximately 53.1 × 46.1mm, this is a highly displayable natural mineral specimen with an excellent balance of size, sparkle and intricate crystal growth.
The specimen is accompanied by locality information identifying it as originating from the Jalgaon District, Maharashtra, India.
About Apophyllite
Apophyllite is the name commonly used for a group of naturally occurring phyllosilicate minerals, particularly prized by collectors for their distinctive geometric crystal formations, glassy lustre and often impressive transparency.
Apophyllite crystals can range from completely colourless and transparent through to cloudy white, pale green and other subtle tones. Their naturally reflective crystal faces can give specimens an especially bright, almost luminous appearance.
India is particularly famous for producing beautiful Apophyllite specimens, with the Jalgaon District of Maharashtra situated within the wider Deccan volcanic region known internationally for its exceptional mineral formations.
The densely layered crystal growth of this specimen makes it a lovely example of the natural geometry for which Indian Apophyllite is so admired.
