Large Faden Quartz Cluster

An impressive Faden Quartz cluster from Balochistan, featuring an extraordinary mass of intergrown clear to milky Quartz crystals across a substantial natural matrix.

This is a seriously striking collector specimen. The formation is densely covered with Quartz points in an incredible variety of sizes and orientations, creating layer upon layer of natural crystal growth. Larger transparent to translucent crystals rise amongst finer needle-like formations, while areas of creamy natural matrix remain visible beneath the Quartz.

Viewed closely, the specimen reveals beautiful internal veils, inclusions and growth features, with some of the clearer crystals catching the light particularly well. The chaotic arrangement of overlapping and intersecting points gives the piece an almost architectural appearance and makes it fascinating from every angle.

At approximately 13.6cm, this is a substantial display specimen with far more presence than the smaller Faden Quartz pieces, making it ideal for a mineral cabinet, statement shelf or serious crystal collection.

About Faden Quartz

Faden Quartz is a distinctive variety of Quartz recognised for unusual internal growth features created as the crystal develops. The name comes from the German word Faden, meaning "thread", referring to the characteristic white thread-like line that can occur within the crystal.

Faden formations are associated with repeated fracturing and rehealing during crystal growth. As the surrounding rock shifts, the growing Quartz can break and continue crystallising, producing fascinating internal structures and complex interconnected formations.

Balochistan is particularly well known among mineral collectors for producing remarkable Quartz specimens, including intricate clusters with beautifully developed crystal forms.
