Product Information

A striking Okorusu Fluorite specimen from Namibia, displaying beautifully saturated blue-green to deep teal Fluorite crystals with areas of vivid emerald green revealed through the more translucent sections.

This substantial 190g collector specimen measures approximately 54.9 × 71.9mm. Its intergrown Fluorite crystals create a wonderfully architectural natural formation, with darker internal zoning, translucent edges and contrasting mineral material across the reverse.

One of its particularly special features is its response under UV light, giving the specimen another dimension beyond its already impressive colour in normal lighting.

About the Material

Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral famous among collectors for its extraordinary range of colours, crystal zoning and distinctive cubic crystal habit. Individual specimens can range from almost colourless through greens, blues and purples to yellows and multicoloured combinations.

The Okorusu Mine in Namibia is a renowned Fluorite locality, particularly associated with highly collectable green, blue-green and purple Fluorite specimens. Pieces from named mineral localities are especially appealing to collectors because their origin forms part of the specimen's geological story.

UV Reactive

This specimen is UV reactive. Fluorite is well known for fluorescence, with certain specimens emitting visible colour when exposed to ultraviolet light due to trace elements and structural characteristics within the mineral.

UV response can vary depending on the wavelength and strength of the UV light source used.

Intention & Chakra

Fluorite is traditionally associated with focus, organisation and mental clarity. It is often chosen symbolically when working through complicated thoughts, studying, planning or trying to bring greater structure to an overwhelming situation.

Intention: Focus & Mental Clarity
Chakra: Third Eye Chakra & Heart Chakra

Natural Specimen Symbolism

Natural mineral specimens preserve the structures created during the mineral's formation rather than reshaping them into a polished form. Symbolically, raw specimens can represent authenticity, natural development and allowing something to take its own form.

Combined with Fluorite's traditional associations with clarity and order, this makes it a beautiful specimen for a collection, workspace or study area.
