A striking natural Prehnite on Calcite mineral specimen, featuring soft mint-green Prehnite formations growing across a sparkling crystalline matrix.

This piece has incredible texture. The Prehnite forms in rounded, botryoidal clusters across the surface, ranging from delicate translucent green to softer milky mint tones. Many of the formations have a beautifully crystalline outer texture, catching the light with a subtle sparkle rather than appearing completely smooth.

Beneath and between the Prehnite is a contrasting Calcite-rich crystalline matrix, with clear to white areas creating depth throughout the specimen. Dark mineral inclusions run through sections of the piece, producing a dramatic black, white and pale green contrast that becomes particularly noticeable when the specimen is turned.

The reverse is just as interesting, revealing more of the darker matrix alongside white crystalline areas and further pockets of green Prehnite. It is the kind of specimen that rewards being viewed from every angle, with completely different formations appearing across each side.

Measuring approximately 83.1 × 59.3mm, this is a substantial natural display specimen with an unusual combination of colour, texture and mineral growth.

About Prehnite

Prehnite is a calcium aluminium silicate mineral typically found in soft green, yellow-green, white and occasionally colourless tones. It is especially recognisable when it develops rounded, botryoidal or globular formations, sometimes with a finely crystalline surface.

Natural Prehnite specimens are frequently found in association with other minerals, producing beautiful combination pieces where its characteristic pale green formations grow directly across a contrasting matrix.
