Product Information

A beautiful natural Stilbite specimen from India, featuring an abundant arrangement of soft peach and creamy-white Stilbite crystals scattered across a wonderfully textured natural matrix.

This is a particularly pretty example of Stilbite because there is so much happening across the surface. Numerous bladed and sheaf-like crystals emerge at different angles, ranging from delicate smaller growths to larger, more prominent formations. Their colouring moves between warm ivory, champagne and subtle peach, giving the entire specimen a soft, almost luminous appearance.

Many of the Stilbite crystals display a beautiful pearly lustre, with fine natural striations visible along their surfaces. In the sunlight, these flatter crystal faces catch the light beautifully against the much finer crystalline coating covering much of the underlying matrix.

The contrast in texture is one of the strongest features of this piece. Areas of the matrix are densely covered with tiny sparkling white crystals, creating a sugary, druzy-like surface around the smoother Stilbite formations. Rounded, heavily crystallised growths along the lower edge add even more dimension and make the specimen interesting from multiple viewing angles.

Measuring approximately 78.9 × 72.0mm, this is a generously sized and highly displayable mineral specimen, with its soft natural colouring making it equally suited to a dedicated mineral collection or an individual display piece.

About Stilbite

Stilbite is a member of the zeolite mineral group and is well known for forming beautiful bladed, tabular and distinctive sheaf-like crystal formations.

India is particularly famous for producing exceptional zeolite specimens, including Stilbite, Apophyllite, Heulandite and related minerals. These crystals commonly develop within cavities in ancient volcanic rock, creating the richly crystallised mineral associations for which Indian specimens are renowned.

Stilbite can occur in shades ranging from colourless and white through cream, pale yellow, salmon and soft peach. Its often pearly lustre and delicate crystal habit give Stilbite specimens a particularly gentle appearance, despite the complex geological processes responsible for their formation.
