A striking Tangerine Quartz mineral specimen from the Honey Pot Pocket, Alston Mine, featuring a dense covering of naturally formed Quartz crystals across a substantial dark matrix.
The crystal face is packed with individual Quartz points, displaying warm honey, amber and tangerine-orange tones created by natural iron staining and mineralisation. Areas of deeper brown and metallic-looking mineral material provide beautiful contrast amongst the Quartz, while the exposed dark matrix gives the specimen a rugged, unmistakably natural appearance.
The formation has wonderful depth, with crystals growing across cavities, raised areas and irregular sections of matrix rather than forming a flat crystal coating. Under direct light, the Quartz faces catch beautifully, shifting between golden orange, smoky honey and clearer translucent areas.
