Aurichalcite with Crystallised Hemimorphite | Ojuela Mine, Mexico
Product Information
A striking Aurichalcite with crystallised Hemimorphite specimen from the Ojuela Mine, Durango, Mexico, displaying an incredible wash of vivid turquoise-blue mineralisation across the natural matrix.
The surface is packed with texture. Fine Aurichalcite creates the unmistakable blue-green colour, while areas of crystallised Hemimorphite add a delicate glassy sparkle across the specimen. In direct light, the tiny crystal faces catch beautifully against the intensely coloured secondary mineral coating.
Rather than appearing as a single uniform layer, the mineralisation follows the natural contours, cavities and fractures of the matrix. This creates areas ranging from soft powdery turquoise to densely crystallised pockets, with occasional sections of the underlying reddish-brown host rock providing a dramatic contrast.
This specimen comes from the famous Ojuela Mine in Durango, Mexico, a locality particularly well known amongst mineral collectors for its diverse secondary mineral assemblages.
