Product Information

A beautiful Optical Honey Calcite sphere, displaying luminous golden honey, soft champagne-yellow and warm amber tones, with delicate internal crystalline formations and natural variations in translucency.

Weighing approximately 770g, this polished sphere has a wonderfully warm and inviting appearance. Its golden colouring ranges from pale buttery yellow and soft honey to deeper amber-gold, creating a gentle, sunlit effect across the rounded surface.

One of the most distinctive features of this specimen is its delicate internal crystal structure. Fine white crystalline veils, subtle cleavage lines and scattered feather-like formations can be seen beneath the polished surface. These features catch the light at different angles, creating beautiful variations in brightness and giving the stone an almost softly illuminated appearance.

Unlike Honey Calcite specimens with stronger colour contrasts or prominent banding, this particular sphere has a relatively consistent golden colour palette. Its beauty lies in the subtle transitions between pale champagne and richer honey-yellow areas, together with the intricate natural formations visible throughout the material.

As the sphere is turned, different crystalline details become apparent, including fine internal lines, cloudy translucent areas and delicate pale mineral markings. The polished surface allows light to interact with the Calcite, highlighting its natural optical character and the gentle depth of its golden colouring.

Measuring approximately 80.8mm (3.18 inches) in diameter and weighing 770g, this is a substantial display sphere with a beautifully balanced appearance, making it an elegant addition to a crystal shelf, altar or collection of natural mineral specimens.

About the Material

Honey Calcite is a golden-yellow to amber-coloured variety of Calcite, a calcium carbonate mineral with the chemical formula CaCO3. Calcite is known for its distinctive rhombohedral cleavage, relatively low hardness and fascinating optical properties.

Transparent Calcite is particularly well known for double refraction, also called birefringence. This optical phenomenon occurs when light travelling through the crystal is divided into two rays, which can cause objects viewed through sufficiently clear material to appear doubled.

The phenomenon is especially associated with highly transparent optical-grade Calcite, historically known as Iceland Spar. Honey Calcite can also display the optical characteristics of Calcite, although natural cloudiness, internal fractures and mineral inclusions may limit the visibility of double refraction in individual specimens.

Honey Calcite's characteristic golden colouring is associated with natural impurities and colour-producing features within the mineral. Shades can range from pale champagne and buttery yellow to deeper amber and golden-orange.

When polished into a sphere, the material's natural cleavage structures, crystalline veils and variations in translucency can be appreciated from multiple angles, giving every specimen its own distinctive appearance.

Intention

Energy & Motivation
Within crystal traditions, Honey Calcite is associated with confidence, motivation, optimism, personal empowerment and mental clarity.

Its warm golden colouring makes it a symbolic choice for intentions surrounding renewed enthusiasm, self-belief and embracing opportunities with a positive outlook.

Honey Calcite is also traditionally associated with overcoming hesitation and recognising personal potential, symbolically encouraging determination, independence and the confidence to pursue meaningful goals.

The gentle, luminous appearance of this particular sphere makes it especially suited to intentions surrounding steady personal growth, positive change and finding motivation without losing a sense of balance.

Associated Chakras

Solar Plexus Chakra
The golden-yellow colouring is strongly associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra, traditionally connected with confidence, personal power, motivation, independence and self-worth.

Sacral Chakra
The warmer honey and amber tones bring an additional Sacral Chakra association, symbolically linked with creativity, emotional expression, enthusiasm and vitality.

Third Eye Chakra
The translucent crystalline structures and optical properties of Calcite are sometimes symbolically associated with the Third Eye Chakra, representing clarity, insight, awareness and perspective.

Shape Symbolism

Sphere
Crystal spheres are traditionally associated with wholeness, harmony, balance and the even distribution of energy. Their continuous rounded form symbolises unity and completeness, without a beginning or end.

Within crystal traditions, spheres are believed to radiate energy equally in all directions, making them popular for meditation, intention setting and creating a harmonious atmosphere within a space.

Paired with the uplifting symbolism of Honey Calcite, the sphere shape represents balanced personal growth, confidence and the steady development of inner strength. Its warm golden appearance also makes it a beautiful symbolic centrepiece for intentions surrounding positivity, motivation and abundance.
